What is in the Sugar?
Sugar, lemons and water! That’s it. At Sugar Me Smooth we only use the highest quality, all natural ingredients. Nothing is ever synthetic or diluted. All of our sugar is 100% all-natural and vegan friendly.
What about my hair type?
Our Sugar works great on all different hair types. We do recommend waiting 3-5 days after shaving, waxing, or sugaring for and optimal length for hair removal. Sugaring also only removes the hair and the follicle, not the top layer of skin. Because of this you can Sugar in the same spot repeatedly until all of the hair is removed, and the skin remains undamaged.
What is the difference between Face and Body Sugar Jars?
There are two differences between our Body Sugar and Face Sugar. The first difference is that the Face Sugar jar is smaller than the Body Sugar jar because it is meant to Sugar a smaller area. The second difference is that licorice root is added to the Face Sugar to reduce sting and irritation in sensitive areas.
How many Sugaring sessions can I get out of a jar?
Our best selling Body Sugar will provide you with at least one full body sugaring session including legs, arms, armpits, back, hands, and feet! For most people it lasts even longer!
How hard is this to use?
Sugaring can be difficult for first time users and it will take 2-3 sugaring sessions to get the hang of the technique. Our “Flicking” technique and Flicker Cards are unique to Sugar Me Smooth and our instructional video at http://sugarmesmooth.com/how-to/ provides specific instructions on how this can be achieved.
How much time does it take to Sugar?
Be patient and really take the time to learn and master the flicking technique. Sugaring, like waxing, can sometimes be time consuming to really do a good job. However, the time is quickly made up by sugaring only once every 3 weeks, instead of shaving every 3 days. With anything, practice improves performance and speed. Be patient as the first few attempts may take some time!
Why are strips not used for this technique?
When strips are removed from the hair removal process, you save time, money and resources. Our Sugar can be used over and over again, whereas each strip of wax can be used only once, and is very difficult to apply and remove on your own. Sugaring can be done in the comfort of your own home and with the flicker cards you will be able to remove hair in places that strips just can’t!
What is the return policy?

Each piece of Sugar can be used over and over again until it no longer removes hair. Once the Sugar is no longer sticky enough to remove hair, simply rub the Sugar under warm water and it will melt away. All of our Sugar is water soluble for easy cleanup.
What if my Sugar is too Hard?
If your Sugar is too hard and difficult to distribute, let the ball of Sugar sit on your skin for a few extra seconds before spreading. Sugar Me Smooth Sugar naturally heats with the temperature of the skin and the longer it interacts with the skin, the warmer it will be. If you still feel that the Sugar is too hard, try warming the jar in the microwave for no more than 10 seconds.
What if my Sugar is too soft? How do I know if the Sugar is too soft?
It is more likely that the Sugar will be too soft than too hard. The Sugar is too warm when it has thinned to a point where it spreads too easily and is especially sticky. Softness can be caused by humidity or temperature of the room. Make sure that you store your Sugar in a cool, dry place. If your body temperature is too warm when Sugaring, this can also cause complications, as the Sugar naturally heats with the temperature of the skin. Never Sugar when you are sweating as this can cause irritation of the skin. If the Sugar becomes too sticky, immediately wash it off and begin again with a new, firmer piece of Sugar. You can also try to Sugar in front of a fan. This will help to keep you and the Sugar cool. Our Prepping Powder can also help to thicken the Sugar, perfect for hair removal.

Sugaring and waxing have many differences, with one of the most significant being the technique. The Sugaring method is actually opposite of waxing as the Sugar is applied against the hair growth. This technique is found to be much more effective and results in less ingrown hairs.

Is sugaring safe for sensitive skin?
We get a lot of questions about sensitive skin. Although genetics have a lot to say when it comes to sensitive skin, sensitivity can also be an indicator of dehydrated skin. If sensitive skin is a concern, make sure you properly exfoliate, moisturize, and drink lots of water in the days prior to sugaring. Sugar Me Smooth is gentler than a chemical wax and will only remove the top layer of dead skin cells while exfoliating as opposed to painfully removing full layer of skin. Sometimes while sugaring the skin will be red or become irritated. If redness occurs expect it to subside within only 15-30 minutes compared to several hours with waxing.
Is sugaring safe for a Diabetic?
Diabetes or other health challenges can also cause skin sensitivity. If you are concerned, please consult your physician prior to sugaring. If taking intensive acne medication consult your physician prior to sugaring.
How will sugaring effect my tan and or sunburn?
Exposure to significant amounts of sunlight can cause the skin to become sensitive or sunburned. Be cautious when using Sugar Me Smooth before and after sun exposure to avoid further irritation. Remember to always wear sunscreen for best care of the skin. Sugar Me Smooth will not remove natural tan like wax, but if you have a faux tan it may come off where applying Sugar Me Smooth.
How long does my hair need to be for sugaring?
Although, Sugar Me Smooth sugar picks up shorter hair than most hair removal products we recommend at least 3 to 7 days post shaving length. This may vary by body area, personal hair growth, and texture.
For best results and to avoid discomfort from unnecessary tugging, hair length is suggested to be no less than ¼ centimeter, such as for face, and no longer than 1.5 centimeter for areas such as legs. It may be necessary to trim some areas before sugaring. If hair is too long it can cause discomfort. If hair is too short the sugar won’t adhere well enough to pull out the hair.
Why do I have bruises after sugaring?
The trick is to flick fast and parallel, keeping the sugar close to the skin, like quickly pulling off a Band-Aid. As with waxing, sugar can possibly cause irritation or bruising if the skin is pulled upward, so use caution to avoid lifting skin when flicking. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times before the flickering technique is mastered.
Why do I need Prepping Powder?
Sugar Me Smooth talc-free prepping powder should be used regularly with sugar hair removal for best results. It absorbs excess oils and moisture on the skin, allowing the sugar to better adhere AND can reduce sting. The areas that require prepping powder for optimal hair removal include underarms, bikini or Brazilian, and feet. However, we do recommend the use of prepping powder for all parts of the body other than the face. A little prepping powder goes a long way, but can make all the difference when using Sugar Me Smooth.
Why does it hurt much less after I’ve sugared a few times?
The first time you sugar, the hair follicles may have never been pulled out by the root before! With consistent sugaring hair comes back finer and thinner with slower regrowth. Over time the hair follicles weaken, and the hairs come out easier with less sting and longer lasting results.
How much sugar should I use?
Once sugaring, the amount of sugar you need will depend on the area you are removing hair from. For example, when sugaring your legs you will start with a golf ball sized piece. However, your upper lip will only require a marble sized piece of sugar. When first beginning, it is easier to work with a smaller piece of sugar. As your flicking ability improves it will be easier to work with larger pieces of sugar.
